I hope the RIP is not premature and the city has got what it was promised. Assuming it has (and if Martin says so it must be true) I think we have learn't the most important thing in years.......
IF WE ALL AGREE AND GO AFTER ONE PROJECT AT A TIME WE CAN GET RESULTS.
It is a waste of time different groups asking for different projects at the same time. A complete waste of time.
I suggest the next one is the university. A door has been opened,(over the next 25 years...) promises have started. We want 5000 to 7000 students now. Not 88 per year for 25 years. This will create thousands of jobs and bring thousand of tourists. It will create a buzz in the city which is missing.
It will fill the airport as people fly in and out, and as Belfast people have to come this way it will even get the road finished. As they realise how much easier for them it will be if they have a motorway.!!!!
And thats for starters.

Well said Eamonn, a pragmatic, sensible approach is needed. Kelvin has shown us that if we unite, we achieve!
Eamon, you are quite right about the numbers - the target we are looking at is nearer 10,000. Modelling evidence tells us thats what the city needs if it is to make a real economic impact. We have to find a way to make it happen. Nice thought, education driving infrastructure. University Expansion as the one big project - Yes, but there are other issues we need to work on internally within the city such as the Tourism product, Civic Pride and Confidence, Health, and other bits and pieces. Maybe University expansion could trigger all that too!
